Real Men Wear Pink

When you are very comfortable with how handsome you are... {or you are one and your mommy dresses you} real men wear pink! I LOVE pink and could not wait for Frank to look enough like a boy to wear this fabulous color! {even though someone told me his face is too "pretty" to be a little boy... which I guess I will take as a -complement??-} Apparently the ladies enjoyed him in pink as well because he was surrounded by them (and baby Jack) at lunch today.

Ohh What a Night...

Thursday was a Crazy Day! After work baby Frank and I headed to Columbus so I could watch Grandma Hayes' last show at WCHS The Wizard of Oz {which was amazing by the way...}. Baby Frank has not been feeling 100%... though I wouldn't say he was extremely ill... just a bit under the weather... a little more than halfway between Dayton and Columbus, Frank started coughing pretty bad and as I looked in my rear view mirror to check on him, I see him projectile vomit across my car and all over himself... panicked I hurry to pull over to the closest gas station {he was puking the entire time I tried to find the closest exit} I completely striped him down and changed his clothes, and had to scrub his car seat and my car with baby wipes {all while he is crying in my arms in the rain}... once he seemed to be calmed down a bit... we hit the road again to try to make it to Columbus as fast as possible... only for this to happen again about 10 minutes later... all in all he had about 3 clothing changes before I gave up and just headed strait for the Grandparents house. When I got to my parents house I threw him in the tub and scrubbed him down... and then he seemed perfectly fine... {the car seat and my car... now that was a different story}. He started playing with his toys and drinking his juice and did not even act like he was sick...

Luckily he seemed well enough to go to his -first- sleep over at his Hartge Grandparents house {who were kind enough to watch him so I could see the show}. They told me his was a perfect little man and had no problems the rest of the night! He was such a happy camper in the morning I could tell he had a great time! TaDoodles

Yesterday Frank was not feeling the best... so I tried to distract him with his TaDoodles paints The Streb Family got him for his birthday... I was under the impression these were more like markers... boy was I wrong!! Baby frank seemed to enjoy himself... and it was really easy to clean up the mess on his skin, high chair, the floor etc... the package may say 18+M... but who am I to pay attention to the age suggestions! Probably would work better when he is a bit older... but similar to the blocks... I am excited to do art projects with the little man... and we still a lot of fun!

Frank the Builder

As a child I loved lego's... For Frank's birthday my friends Mike and Jill Reidmiller got him a Little People Train which has "big legos" on it. I have been building with frank all week... but I decided today we needed more blocks. So while running errands we found this huge bag of Mega Blocks! and I could not wait to get them home and build something! {haha I know I am such a dork... but I wish I was a professional lego builder... so this is as close as it gets...} Frank appeared to enjoy the blocks too! We built a barn for his Little People Farm,  and obstacles for his cars... it was a pretty good time!

Happy Birthday Grandpa Frank!

Today is Grandpa Frank's {Frank3} Birthday!

Here are five things you may not know about him...

1. Grandpa Frank is huge music fan, and would be considered a "groupie" for his favorite band the Kennedy's. He has gotten to sing on stage with them, and even had them at his house for a concert.
2. He went to University of Michigan, which is why none of his children {well maybe Joe} are huge OSU fans... 
3. Frank3 really likes Charles Dickens and used to try to read A Christmas Carol with his children every year between thanksgiving and christmas.
4. Grandpa Frank is really interested in spreading the Traditional Latin Mass... The Frank's and I even joined him when there was a latin mass in Dayton...
5. He is the oldest of three brothers, whom he has started the tradition of going to South By Southwest with every year {a big music festival in Austin TX}.

1 Year Photos

When Frank5 and I got home this afternoon we found a box on the doorstep from RootStudio, where Frank had his 1 year photos taken {thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Hartge and the St. Charles Soccer Auction!} The photographer did such an amazing job it was extremely hard for me to narrow down which pictures I liked best... but unfortunately I had to choose... here are the photos we loved and we think you will enjoy them too! {Again I would like to mention Root Studio in Hilliard, Ohio took these pictures and they are a wonderful photography studio... for any of your picture needs...}

Boonshoft Museum

Today baby Frank and I went to the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery with our neighbor Katie and her oldest son Wyatt. The boys had an excellent time playing at the museum, where kids can climb on and touch everything! They ever had animals such as otters, ducks and snakes which the kiddos could check out. I was very excited we discovered this place and plan to return often because it was so much fun. We played there for almost 3 hours then we went to lunch at Dewey's Pizza by University of Dayton. Frank was excellent the whole time, even though we pushed right through nap-time... he was fascinated by 2 1/2 year old Wyatt and all the other kids. Frank even tried artichokes and goat cheese at lunch and LOVED them! all in all we had a very fun day!

1 Year Old with the Gund Bear

It took me a while to take these 1-year photos {OK i am only a week late geesh!} mostly because when we took his professional photos a few weeks ago the Gund bear was in them! However since they are not in yet to post... I -tried- to take some pics this morning... but a one year old is  clearly not interested in taking pictures when mommy wants to {as you will see}... Frank is growing so nicely! now 21 lbs 12oz (almost 22!) and a little over 31 inches tall. He still has only 6 teeth and is walking quite well when he chooses too... If you were a 1 year old Frank here are a few things you might enjoy...

Favorite Foods: Cheerios, Green Beans, Corn, Carrots, Peas, Yogurt, Bananas, Rice, Pasta! {any kind with any sauce}, chicken, cheese, blueberry waffles or pancakes, sweet potato fries and orange juice. {ohh yeah and milk! no more formula!!}

Favorite Toys: {he got so many for his birthday it is hard to pick a few} His new "car", Handy Manny Tool Box, Cars/Trucks, blocks, Books!

Favorite Games: Turning on/off the TV or light switches, having daddy push him around in a laundry basket, opening and closing doors/drawers/cabinets, dragging his but across the carpet then "shocking" mommy or Lexie...

New Words: He still babbles quite a bit, he says "Hi" {i am trying to teach him Hola} especially when he picks up the phone.. "Daa" {Dad}... Doahh {Dog}... Maaaa {mom}

New Skills: Walking! Pointing to what he wants {juice vs. milk}. Sharing, since being at the babysitters he has become accustomed to other babies and his toys... and he does a very good job of sharing and not stealing.

What a Difference

What a difference a year can make! It is hard to believe a year has already passed since we first met our little man... the time really does just fly by! We could not love this little boy any more {as you could probably tell from his birthday party} I hope the next year is as fun as his first year and we will try to continue the tradition of the Gund Bear into 2009!
