Being Nostalgic!

I was backing up old photos and putting them on my computer etc... and I came across this gem from June 2006 when the McGinty's came to Memphis for Luke's baptism... for whatever reason Megs is missing from this picture or else it would be perfect! It is crazy how fast time goes by, and I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends!

Hats! Hats! Hats!

Today was a wonderful BRISK fall day in Ohio... this is the weather I missed while living in the south! I decided during nap time to go through and sort baby Frank's clothes, putting away summer etc... and I found this little gem! I love hats on babies... especially funny and different ones... because of this, and all the hand-me downs we have received... baby frank has more hats then most babies... and thankfully he doesn't really mind wearing them! I think it is safe to say he is a little mad hatter... but this one will be especially good for the winter because it covers his ears nicely, even if my mother will hat it because he looks like he has pig-tails.. she will say it is too girly... but it is blue... oh well just another photo opportunity i suppose!

Twinkle Toes

Frank has been practicing standing and pulling up, but it is still a WORK IN PROGRESS! But he gets better and better with every passing day. He gets so excited when he finally is standing he tends to jump or wiggle himself into falling down... he is one crazy kid! Another fun baby frank fact is he likes to stand on his tippy toes... he likes to walk on his tippy toes and he also likes to stand in "dance positions"...  many people have commented on his "baby ballet" because it is so funny to see such a little man being so -graceful-... It is especially since his mommy has never been described as graceful, and was one of the first and probably kids to get "asked to remediate beginner dance classes" as a child... he is such a tall string bean maybe he will be a better dancer then his parents!

Standing on his music table... so much fun!

Eat at Chili's!

Today, September 29th you should take your whole family (or yourself) to eat at Chili's and help in the fight against childhood cancer! Today, 100% of the proceeds go to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital... which many of you know I spent two wonderful years working at. St. Jude holds a very special place in my heart for all of the wonderful things I have seen there, and the many ways they help ALL children with catastrophic diseases. To date, Chili's has raised over $18.7 million dollars for St. Jude and this is just one of they ways they help in making such large donations. So If you love children ,and you love to eat you have no excuse to not go and eat for a cure to childhood cancer! (unless there is not a chili's near you).

Eat at Chili's and help fight pediatric cancers!

Naked Baby

Frank's new found dexterity also now allows him to -remove- his diapers... which he has done on multiple occasions (once during the night.. you can imagine how nice that was for us to wake up to) This morning after his nap I caught him like this... diaper removed and happy as can be... I guess we just have to keep pants on that boy!

Before Bedtime

I took some photos tonight while baby frank and I were playing before bedtime, and waiting for daddy to come home. Baby frank loves "crawling" around on the floor and chasing after his train. He is starting to attempt to pull up on things but he needs a little assistance, like pillows or a step to get completely up. He is very excited when he can stand... but he gets so excited he typically doesn't stand for long... he is such a happy and funny baby, he makes me laugh so much!

it's a process
yeah! he made it

Feeding Update

Update on frank at 7 months... Baby frank is still such a good eater. He loves "orange colored foods" still... specifically sweet potatoes and he really enjoys the pear-blueberry-oat mix from Gerber. We did discover he has a sensitivity to anything with strawberries (puffs and food), which I hope he grows out of because can you imagine not eating strawberries??? That would be terrible! He is working really hard on the sippy cup... but it is usually hit-or-miss. One thing that we enjoy about him now is his ability to "self-feed". He has been doing this for about a month now with "puffs" and he is such a pro! He likes the sweet potato and the corn varieties, but not he does not like the apple...Self feeding is not only entertainment to us (because it is so fun to watch) but seems to be entertainment for baby Frank as well... It makes going into public that much easier with such a great distraction!. I have so many videos of him eating and moving around... but for some reason they will not upload to the blog so these pictures will have to do until that gets working.

sippy-cup success???
he tries so hard
picking up his puffs
puff in the mouth
so nonchalant about his skills...
he loves to eat!

Weekend in Columbus

Here are some pictures from our weekend in Columbus when we were jut hanging out at my parents house. One of baby Frank's favorite things is -computer cords- more specifically the power cord to my mac,,, (good thing mac power cords pull out with out pulling the laptop down on him) every time he gets the chance he goes strait for the cord... and now that he can move it seems to be this cat and mouse game we have...
Busted!
you can't be mad at this face...

baby frank and Gus are best buddies. Gus always tries to bring him toys to play with, and with baby frank moving around Gus thinks he has a new playmate. It is really funny to watch because Lexie is such a "cat" and really could care less about baby frank (unless he has food).

Happy Birthday Erin "Emo" McGinty

Today is my bestest buddy's Erin's 20-something-th birthday!

Here are 5 things you may not know about her...
1. As children we despised each other, i thought she was a witch, she thought i was something that rhymed with witch... we did not get along until we were forced to ride to high school together.
2. Erin actually prefers Qdoba over Chipotle... NO COMMENT necessary on that... it is just CRAZY!
3. Erin's Favorite number is 22... she loves the double-deuce, and she sported that number while we played softball together in high school.
4. Erin has a what some may call an "unhealthy" obsession with Tim Hortons (I disagree)... she even worked there in high school and still can not resist the aroma of timbits... but her curse is they do not have a Tim Hortons in the entire state of Wisconsin...
5. Erin was my maid of honor when Frank4 and I got married! Which is truly what makes her exceptionally special... haha! Above is a photo from the wedding.

Katzinger's Deli

Today we celebrated Uncle Joe's birthday with lunch at the Katzinger's Deli. Baby frank enjoyed hanging out with Uncle Joe and his Hartge grandparents while snacking on sweet potato puffs, and he even tried a pickle. After lunch we went to the Art Festival downtown Columbus, and checked out all the interesting merchandise. Baby frank had such a great time he even forgot to take his nap this afternoon and and didn't seem to phase him during church. Here are some pictures from the day...

7 Months Old with the Gund Bear

With the power outages etc... it took me a week longer to get these pictures... but here he is 7 months old with his Gund bear! Can you believe it?
These are things you might enjoy if you were 7 month old:
-practicing crawling by chasing your train around the house, though rolling appears to still be his preferred mode of transportation
-climbing on mommy and daddy, and trying to pull up to a standing position
-eating your body weight in sweet potato puffs, and eating lemons? while at restaurants (even though we are pretty sure you don't like the taste)
-saying dadadadadada or bababababa and laughing at your self in delight

7 months old
enough with the pictures... i want to play!
such a happy guy
so silly!
what a long baby

How Time Flys!

It is hard to believe baby Frank is already 7 months old! It is amazing how much he has grown in such a short period of time.. we cannot wait to continue to watch him grow!

Football Friday Night

Last night baby Frank went to the Westerville Central vs. Westerville North football game. He got to meet up with his buddy Brody and meet Langley and Kenzie for the first time. He was such a good guy and seemed to have a great time eating his apples and sweet potato puffs while watching grandma and grandpa Hayes tear tickets. Here are some pics:
