St. Jude Employee Night at the Zoo

Baby Frank and I went to St. Jude Employee Night at the Zoo with my cousin Brandi and co-worker Justina McEvoy on Sunday night. Frank was such a great baby and enjoyed the polar and panda bears as well as the other animals. I am sure we will be making many trips to the zoo this summer.

Baby Bobcat

Today we spent the day around the house, gardening and taking walks through the neighborhood. Baby frank is finally big enough for his OU shirt Kelly Curtin gave him, and he looks like a perfect future bobcat!

I am trying to get the hang of posting/taking video's of frank... since daddy is the real videographer in the family... but here is a video of baby frank talking to himself in the mirror on his changing table. He loves me to change his diaper because he can talk to his friend in the mirror...

Walking in Memphis...

Tonight we took pictures during our nightly walk down by the river. We also took pictures of the house (at grandpa Frank's request) so everyone can see the area we live in. It has been a beautiful week here the weather has cooperated very nicely.

Weekly Visitors

The week is almost over with our visitors from Ohio. Mrs. Gernetzke and Grandma Hartge have been here for almost a whole week taking care of baby frank and mommy too. I think everyone enjoyed their stay in Memphis, and we are sad to see them leave tomorrow. The next visitors will be my brother T.J. and his wife April in May.

Nothing makes baby frank happier then being in the car. He loves everything about it, especially his car seat toys! There is a little green bear that hangs sown from his car seat and he loves to talk to it and laugh at it... it will entertain him the entire ride (or until he falls asleep) Mrs. Gernetzke captured these pictures of Frank enjoying his toys.

Week in Review

This week Grandma Hartge and Mrs. Gernetzke came to memphis to help watch baby Frank while I was at work. They hung out and explored Memphis a couple of days, and went to the Peabody hotel to see the ducks on tuesday. Both ladies said he was the perfect host and a wonderful baby. He get's attention wherever they go and is quickly making plenty of friends here in the south. The weather is getting pretty warm now in Memphis and we are starting to break out baby frank's summer clothes!

Talking to the Man in the Mirror...

This morning grandma Hayes left to go back to Ohio and baby frank and I are awaiting the arrival of Grandma Hartge and Mrs. Gernetzke who will be staying with us for the week. Frank has totally figured out his hands, he is grasping things (especially mommy's hair) and pulling on his toys now. He is trying really hard to grab his feet... but maybe that will happen very soon... His new favorite activity is being changed because grandma hayes placed this mirror above his changing table, and he likes to talk to the handsome boy in the mirror... he could talk to himself for hours if I would let him...

Mississippi River Flooding

Due to all the snow this winter up north the mississippi river is flooded 12 feet above flood level... which is about 20 feet above where it normally is... the water is almost to the road on Mud Island where we live... which is a big difference from this time last year... We decided to take pictures of the water tonight while on our walk... the first pictures are of the bench where Frank proposed to me... From where the pictures are taken I would be under water today... the second set of pictures are of the river today... everything... including our bench... is completely underwater!

While I am at work frank and Grandma Hayes have been keeping very busy! He likes to read books and to stare at his ocean toy in his crib to pass the time! I cannot believe he is already 9 weeks old! he is getting so big!

Today was Frank's 2 month check up at his new Pediatrician in Memphis Dr. Sepulveda. He weighed in at 13lbs 15oz (95th percentile) and 24.1 inches long (90th percentile) and easily passed all of his baby tests. He received 4 vaccines (3 shots and one oral) and did pretty well after he got over the initial shock. The doctor said he is very healthy and growing at the perfect rate... which of course we already knew. He is due back in at 4 months for his next check-up.

With his Gund Bear at 2 Months

Keeping with our tradition these are franks 2 month pics with his gund bear! He turned two months old on Sunday April 13th. He is all smiley and giggly now, can almost hold his head up, is starting to be able to grasp/pick up things, and is very close to rolling over! there have been so many changes in just two months he is growing into such a wonderful little man!

Last night when i went to check on Frank i found him sleeping on his tummy with his knees pulled into his chest and his booty in the air. He looked soo cute I had to take pictures.

He's Been Accepted!

Even more exciting as those college admission letters he will undoubtedly recieve in just 18 years... Frank has been accepted to Day Care in Memphis!!! The center is called FLICC or the Foreign Language Immersion Childcare Center, and it is located on Mud Island where we live! He begins May 1st and today grandma Hayes and I visited to get his "admissions packet". We are all very happy with the center and most importantly the people that will be caring for Frank while I am at work!

Road trip to Memphis!

On Saturday April 12th (Grandpa Hayes' Birthday) we finally left for Memphis with two adults, two cars, two dogs, and one baby!The night before uncle Mike and uncle Joe helped us load up the cars for the move... I can safely say that they may be hesitant to stop by my parents house in the future for fear of being put to work!We left at about 4am ohio time and it took us less than 12 hours to make it the 600 miles to memphis with baby frank! He was the perfect travel buddy... sleeping most of the way and talking to his car seat toys. He was only a briefly a little fussy... but mommy learned on this road trip that frank can quickly be soothed by the vocal styling of Mr. William Joel... he definitely gets that from mommy! I was just so proud of frank for being such a trooper through the entire move. He is such a blessing to have!
