Playing with Aunt Molly

Aunt Molly came up to hang out and visit us today and frank seemed to have an excellent time playing with her! She went shopping with us and kept us company all day while daddy frank was studying for his cardio exam on Monday... We took some pictures of them playing and of course some more video of frank walking!

Fashion Preview

Friday baby Frank is getting his first professional photos taken for his 1 year birthday... so aunt molly and I tried to figure out some cute outfits for him to wear during his photo shoot... It is a bit difficult to choose because frank is so tall and skinny things never fit him correctly... these are some of the -outfits- that did not make the cut for one reason or another... pieces of these clothes may appear in the final selection... so here is a preview of what's to come...

Trend-o-riffic

looking very handsome

super prep- just a little too big for him

The Artful Dodger

Our little man may not be a pick-pocket... but he is quite a good beggar... he likes to try anything we are eating or drinking... sometimes we allow him to taste out food.... obviously other times we do not... he is getting pretty good at the cute little "please feed me face" it is irresistible to everyone... even aunt Molly...

frank is thinking... hey whatcha got there??

please molly... can i have some more...

These Shoes Are Made For Walkin'

This is Frank... he is a very special child

he has many pairs of cute shoes... but he will instantly rip them off his feet... socks too... unless they are his Robeez...

I love them because I think they are super casual and cute... (this is his second pair) my mother on the other hand HATES these shoes...  which is why he has so many pairs of shoes because she tries to replace them... these are the ONLY shoes Frank leaves them on his feet (even in the car)... and nothing is more frustrating then having to re-dress your baby before taking him out of the car OR searching the grocery store for a lost shoe/sock!

tonight I put them on him in the house... and he would not stop walking everywhere...

this is a man who knows what he likes... and he likes comfort

It looks like I am going to need to get him another pair since he is growing out of these... I guess the shoes can make the man as well... and he is one cool dude!

Snow Day!!

Today the whole family had a snow day! I did not have my student teaching today or Sinclair teaching tonight, and Daddy Frank's school was cancelled all day {even though he still has a lot of work and studying to do... so he never really gets a break..} Today we got like 4 inches of ice and snow on top of all the snow from yesterday...We took frank5 out to check out the snow storm... I got him all bundled up in his snow suit... he didn't really seem overly thrilled about the snow... but next year I know he will love it!

The Franks in all the snow

Frank does not seem to excited by all the snow

more snow pictures with daddy

trying to see how deep the snow is... he quickly went inside after this...

Snow Days are also fun inside the house... one of franks favorite things to do is use his hammer to hit his shapes in his tool box {sort of like that wack-a-mole game we played as kids}... he is so proud of himself when he hits them all...

A Day in the Life

I had a snow day today! Too bad I drove all the way into work... and I found out they cancelled it once I got there {it was a LATE cancellation}.... but I did get to hang out with frank5 all day... and took some pictures of what he has been up to lately... I have been told frank5 needs a hair cut... well at least a trim before his 1-year pictures... He is getting a bit mulletish... but I can help it I love his hair... maybe when he is mistaken for a girl I will break down

Crazy hair frank

It has a mind of its own... maybe he does need a trim...

The videos posted yesterday show frank feeding Lexie from his high chair {which he loves to do}... his other favorite think is to walk over to the fence when Lexie is in the kitchen and feed her some of his goldfish crackers... At least he is sharing his snack very nicely {something that must come from daddy frank}... but he is such a string bean this child needs to eat! haha

walking up to the fence to share with Lexie

he thinks it is so funny... and Lexie is not complaining either

With a little less than 3 weeks until Frank's first birthday... we are doing very well with our goal of bottle freedom... lately he only has two bottles a day (waking up and bed time...) there have been a few occasions where frank has not been feeling well and had a complete melt down when I would refuse the bottle and force the sippy cup on him... and I have broken down... I find I am much more strong willed then frank5 (most of the time)... so hopefully we can make it through the rest of this transition successfully :)

A Boy and His Puppy

Well Lexie is not really a "Puppy"... she is almost five... and she never really shows an interest in Frank unless he has food... because he could drop some off the side and she could get lucky... now she is really going to become his best buddy!

Here are two videos... because it was so funny I kept recording

I guess Lexie will have to be put in the other rood during meal times now... i am sure she will not be pleased with that!

Priceless

Aunt Molly took this picture on her cell phone last night while giving frank a bath... and I think it is priceless...

** I keep being asked to put up video of frank walking... and it is really hard to do without assistance (as you can see)... so this is the best I can do until frank and I find some time to take better video

Happy Birthday Grandma Hayes!

Today is Grandma Hayes' Birthday!!

Here are five things you may not know about her.

1. Growing up she did tap, ballet and played baseball/softball
2. She graduated High School at age 16
3. This Otterbein graduate majored in science education and theatre
4. She was a military brat, traveling a lot as a child, living in Germany for a while
5. Her favorite place is the pool or the ocean... our summers were always spent at the pool as children... I guess aquarians really do love the water!

Med School Prom

Last night Frank and I went to Medical School Formal... aka Med School Prom... and Aunt Molly came up from Cincinnati to babysit baby Frank. We had a great time at the dance and definitely enjoyed the alone time together!

Before we left for the Prom

We had to pose with baby Frank

Daddy Frank dancing away

This morning we went to the Golden Nugget with aunt Molly after church... which University of Dayton grads typically rave about... and we were not disappointed.

Tigger Time

When we were first given Tigger last summer... Frank hated the toy... It would make him cry... now it is one of his favorites! He loves to dance to Tigger singing and push his nose to get him started again... such a silly little man!

Luke's Story

Luke's story was put to music at the local radio station! Listen to his story...

WARNING: I hope you have some Kleenex handy! Though our little buddy is doing much better he still has chemo through April... so please continue to keep him in your prayers :)

TROUBLE

Our little curious George seems to find more and more things to get into every day. He has been sick this week, but as his babysitter told me, it has not affected his energy level! He is getting a lot better with "walking"... typically 3 or 5 steps at a time... never much farther then that... and he usually only walks because he is too distracted to remember to crawl... once he realizes he is walking he will just sit down and begin crawling... (I guess he wants to be perfect before he goes any farther)... I did catch a picture of him mid step... though it looks like he is about to fall to the floor... he did take a good three steps....

I was cleaning the kitchen floor, so I put Frank's high chair in the other room... he decided to make it into a jungle gym and proceeded to climb back and forth over it while I finished the floor... It was so funny I has to catch it on video

Frank's other favorite "game" is to open and close drawers and doors. He likes to open drawers... remove their contents... however he will them put everything back in the drawer... this he must get from his daddy... You will notice the video is cut short because I had to remove the paper from his mouth.... ohhh frank!

Comfort..

I had to take frank5 to the doctor today because he has had a bad cough, runny nose and today he started tugging on his ear... I was going to let it run its course, but little buddy just seemed to be so uncomfortable... so to be on the safe side we got him checked out. The doctor said he has a viral infection {he saw red spots in his throat} but luckily no ear infection {but a lot of ear wax} ... the doctor had to remove all the wax to make sure he did not have an infection... and he did NOT like that one bit! It took him like 10 minutes to calm down from that traumatic event... but he quickly felt better when he was able to snuggle with his blanky... sometimes all it takes is a nice soft blank to feel better

so happy to be with his blanky

nothing like a little comfort

sick.. but still on the move

not really a pacifier kid... but his blanky is his best friend...

Monday...Monday

Frank5 has been a bit sick these past few days... cough and runny nose... but he is hanging in there like a champ! I took some pictures this morning while I was packing up to leave for Dayton... what a silly little man we have I just can't seem to help myself

eating his favorite breakfast of cheerios and bananas... he must have been so excited... it appears he has misplaced a cheerio...

contemplating which magnet to pull off and chew

busted!! You think these plugs can stop him grandma... be serious!

Weekend Update

What a weekend! Friday morning baby Frank and I drove to Columbus {daddy Frank joined us later that evening} and visited again with our new little buddy Jack Streb {LOVE him}. Then {due to a snow day} Uncle Joe babysat Frank all afternoon while mommy and grandma Hayes ran errands. We spent most of Saturday with the Hartge grandparents, uncle Joe and Aunt Molly.
Today {Sunday} Frank5, the Hayes grandparents and myself were going to visit one of grandma Hayes' dearest childhood friends, Pam Leon, who was at a conference in Sandusky. We woke up early and hit the road by 7:00am... however we encountered quite the snowstorm on the way and figured heading further north was not the best idea {especially with baby frank in the car}... so we stopped for breakfast {baby frank loves blueberry pancakes!} and headed back to play the rest of the day... grandma Hayes took a lot of pictures of Frank5 getting into things, and I took some video of him playing with the hippo walker his friend Brody gave him.

Drinking and playing with the remote! What a man!

Walking away

** The idea of a walker for babies is funny to me... I think he looks like he will as a really old man... bald spot... diaper... and using a walker... but he seems to enjoy himself...

*** We would also like to congratulate our buddy Luke Anderson! He is famous and quite the little miracle! Keep it up buddy can't wait till you are done :)***

In Case You Did Not Know...

We are constantly made fun of for using science and medical terms about or around Frank5... from developmental milestones, cranial nerves, brain/bone/muscle development... however it is quite apparent regardless of all of this...
Frank5 is the smart one... as you can tell here

I think he is smart because he has mastered the sippy cup before his 1st birthday

and he loves to play with nerdy science toys

like this Hoberman Sphere

*** like you though he stood a chance to be anything but a nerd with the parents he has! We are setting him up for science and math nerdiness early in life!
