Brothers

Frank is an -amazing- big brother. He loves his brother Charlie, he is very patient with him. He loves to help out getting toys and anything we ask for. He is always giving him kisses and concerned with his whereabouts... I have even caught him trying to climb into Charlie's crib with him. I can't wait to continue to watch this relationship blossom and grow :)

Frank also likes to make sure Charlie knows how to -correctly- play with his toys... I mean isn't that what a big brother is for!?

Farmer Frank

Frank and I planted some seeds in an egg carton on Monday. We placed them on the windowsill in the kitchen and we have been watering them everyday...

And TODAY I noticed some little sprouts! Updates to come...

Rehobeth Beach

Since Daddy Frank actually had Saturday off... we decided to attempt to take the boys to a Rehobeth Beach in Delaware.

Charlie and Frank ready to leave

It -should- have only taken us about 2 hours to get there... and ended up taking about 4.5.... nothing is ever easy in DC! So instead of getting there at about 10:00... we arrived at 12:30 and the temp was 103 degrees {yeah... terrible planning on our part}. So needless to say our relaxing family day on the beach was not so "relaxing"... by the time we got everything set up... Frank decided he did not like the water or anyone to go in it because it was "too dangerous" the sand was so hot I think I got second degree burns on the bottoms of my feet.... after about an hour we packed up and headed home. {it only took us 2 hours to get home...} Life is always interesting with little ones :)

Charlie all ready for the beach!

Frank likes to be a big helper

Super cute -almost beach bum-

The beach truly was beautiful and kid friendly.... we are thinking of going back this fall when it is LESS hot!

First Cereal

Being 4 months and a -BIG- eater I decided to try some solids with this little guy. Always being compared to his brother this is about the time we tried solids with Frank as well. I mixed up some rice cereal with some breast milk and voila! Dinner... Here is a little dialogue I made up to go along with dinner...

"hey guys... what's going on here?"

"Hey Frank... little help please?"

Chubby Cheeks at 4 months!

"What is this thing?"

"That looks good..."

"Hmmm...."

Yum!

"This is fantastic!"

"got any more guys?"

Charlie 4 Month Dr. Appointment

Today Charlie had a doctor's appointment and he is 4 months old! {It is not his check-up... that will be later in August} He was having issues with going potty so we had to get him checked out. They weighed and measured him and he is getting to be a big boy! He weighed 16lbs 10z and was 25.5 inches long. Basically the same size as his brother... just an inch shorter... and proportioned slightly different... but what a loveable little guy!

4 Months Old with the Gund Bear

Charlie is 4 Months Old! He is such a big boy we are so pleased with how fast he is growing! He weighs in at 16lbs 1oz and is 25.5 inches long. His 4 month Check-up is August 10th so we will have all his stats then! He still has issues with reflux, I tried to ween him off his meds but quickly realised that was not a good idea! He is rolling over front to back and back to front.... if you let him go he will roll across the floor! He can sit up with assistance and will grab for absolutely anything to put into his mouth! He is a very social little guy... always "talking" t us and demands to be a part of the group. His favorite thing in the world is still his Baby Bijorn, thought he also enjoys his jumperoo and exersaucer. It is so fun to watch out little man grow! Since my camera lens is broken I had to take these with my zoom lens... I think they still turned out pretty good!

Charlie at 4 months

Hey guys!

"she is making to do this too?"

"hey you have got something there..."

"Right on your nose..."

"let me just chew on you for a little while..."

"Ok I am stuck... little help here..."

A -Frank- Update

I have been trying to do more "educational" activities with Frank ever since he stopped attending the Bombeck Center... he will restart pre-school in the fall and we are really excited to meet his new friends and teachers soon. Frank is really into number and letters so we like to practice letters with these cheese-its!
I am not sure how people that home school do it... I have a workbook I try to do activities with Frank from while Charlie is napping and he has no interest in paying attention to me half the time, he also enjoys deliberately giving me the wrong answer and laughing about it... I now know why I never teach below 10th grade...

Frank does love to help me in the kitchen though... especially when we bake cookies and he gets to taste our work!

Happy 4th of July 2011

Happy 4th of July!! Daddy had to work today so we got to hang out with Aunt Molly and Grandma Hartge! Charlie is looking quite patriotic in his Captain America gear

After dinner Aunt molly and I decided to take Frank to the Iwo Jima Memorial to see the fireworks... why not right!? So we took the Metro switching trains once on our way. Frank loved the -train- he was so great watching the people get on and off. He liked saying "all aboard" when the doors would open. When we arrived to the memorial we had to walk around a bit to find where we wanted to go... Molly and I lost each other... but found each other in time to see the fireworks! It was a beautiful view of the capital building and Washington monument over the Potomac... absolutely beautiful! After the fireworks we navigated our way back in amazing speed! Aunt Molly and I were so proud of ourselves! Here is a picture of Molly and Frank waiting for the train.
