It had been a rainy day... so of course once the rain stopped we thought "let's go to the park"

Moments before the broken arm
Frank was playing with a little boy he met at the park, they were chasing and running then they decided to go down the slide -together- and Frank immediately fell off the top of the slide. I did not see it but Frank4 did... however is was quite clear that his arm was broken... freaking out (me not Frank4... afterall he is a doctor...) we threw all boys back in the van and rushed to the nearest hospital... hitting what felt like every red light along the way. Frank5 just kept asking to go home and get a bath, he HATES hospitals and doctors (he -might- not be our doctor). I think he was more upset about being at the hospital than his actual broken arm

Poor little buddy
the splint is really how his arm looked... yikes! The nearest Pediatric hospital is Yale about 40 miles away... so we were going to be sent by ambulance to Yale... at this time is is past 8pm... everyone is really tired and ready for bed... so we decide to let daddy ride with Frank and Mommy/Charlie/Ben follow behind because they were going to be a long drive away and someone had to pick them up!

Frank felt much better after meds
The whole process was long and exhausting... but Frank was such a brave trooper. He kept asking me to sing him his favorite song "the rainbow connection" and watch Phineas and Ferb on the iPad. He also informed the doctors that his favorite color was grey, and his favorite food was green beans... interesting! Because he had to be sedated to have his arm set... then he had to WAKE U from sedation we were there for a long time... Charlie was not interested in sleeping (even though the ER staff was so kind to give us a private room for him) he wanted to round and flirt with the nurses...

Charlie making his 2am rounds
Once we were able to get him up and to eat a popsicle we were free to leave! It was a long night... but he seems to be doing ok with his cast... he is in a bit of pain still... and we are all bummed that pool season/beach season is now over...
