Oakwood Homecoming Parade/Bonfire

Wednesday Night I took Frank to Oakwood High School {the school I teach at}... for their Homecoming Parade and Bonfire. If you are not from the Dayton area... Oakwood is a very SMALL (it's total area is about 3 square miles) very... I guess affluent? not sure how to describe it in one word... but a really nice little town in the heart of Dayton, right next to UD campus. They are KNOWN for their academics and PRIDE! So I thought it would be fun to take frank to see the celebration!

They have a full on Parade! where all the fall athletes, the marching band and club members walk through town... there were even fire trucks, police cars and floats!

Frank was very intrigued through the whole parade....

Then the entire town basically walks to the stadium where they introduce all the fall athletes and give some "motivational words" then they light a huge bonfire! The band plays on the cheerleaders cheer... it was quite a fun place to be

We are ready and "fired up" for Homecoming this week!

When Life Hands you Lemons...

It is time to get excited...

Yes! That's right I am 14+ weeks pregnant... Made it to 2nd trimester! Wohoo.... but still a long way to go for this little one which we won't be able to officially meet until the end of March 2010.... since I told my employer today... I guess it is time to tell the world! Here is a pic of our newest little one 2 weeks ago during his/her nuchal translucency screening.

Another view at 12weeks 5 days

Check Up at 10weeks 3 days

Nothing better than the first time you see the baby with a strong heart beat... much better than last time... 7 weeks never looked so good! {too bad I was not feeling so good...}

Welcome Home Daddy!

Last Night {very late night} Daddy came home from a month in San Diego!!!!! We are very happy to have him back for a few days before we have to say good-bye again as he heads off to Washington DC for the month of October... {is it November yet??} Frank was very quick to show daddy all of his new favorite things he has learned this past month. We went to the park this morning, had lunch with Frank's godfather Liam and his brother Finn, played in the yard, went for a walk and then got to play with Play Doh before bed time! We are very happy to have daddy home!

Play Doh with daddy!

DORA at the Zoo

Saturday we took Frank to DORA at the zoo! We had breakfast with Dora and got to watch an animal show. Frank was very excited to meet Dora...

Then Dora arrived to the party...

And like any boy... Frank was quickly intimidated by his one true love... he was scared to go and talk to her...

So he passed the time with some face painting

Tattoos make a boy look cool right?

Especially BACKPACK!

He was excited to meet the Frog...

Very unsure and uncomfortable with being up close and alone with Dora... so mommy had to help

After breakfast we got to walk around the zoo... here are some manatees

And we saw DORA's motorcade drive by! Yeah Dora!
